amypowers 0 Posted June 9, 2001 This is a good shot - I think I'd like it more if it was printed a little darker, but the pose and the comp is great. Link to comment
marc1 0 Posted October 20, 2001 this seems to be slightly over exposed, or is that what it is!, good composition Link to comment
tom_menegatos 0 Posted November 8, 2001 Marielou, how about this? Ala Michael Ezra.... Link to comment
tom_menegatos 0 Posted November 8, 2001 Ok, A little too much like Ezra's work. Although the soft contrast works better here. Here it is again without the toning. Link to comment
tom_menegatos 0 Posted November 8, 2001 ok I'm littering my own page with my comments but here it is again I thought this crop might be better. Link to comment
marielou_dhumez 1 Posted November 8, 2001 In fact, Tom, it's the very first one I prefer. I've not seen at my first sight that your photo looks like a drawing like "fusain" (same word in english ?)and then it's the originality of your daring and beautiful picture. Thanks for new versions. tom_menegatos 0 Posted November 8, 2001 Thanks Marielou,I think fusain is charcoal in english. I try not to upload any black and white images that I can't create in the darkroom. Since I havne't started to play with toning yet I prefer the black ones because they're a better representation of what I can actually do.have a look at Michael Ezra's stuff if you haven't already. I think you'll like it too. Link to comment
tom_menegatos 0 Posted November 9, 2001 I changed the main image to use the softer contrast one. Here is the original image. Link to comment
ian_greant 0 Posted November 9, 2001 Very nice work Tom. The low contrast and high key seem to take the graphic shock out of the rather intimate pose. Most impressive! Link to comment
amypowers 0 Posted November 9, 2001 Really great, Tom, I like this version...As has been stated, I think the difference between the intimate pose and the light tones really grab the eye. Good work! Link to comment
nomade 1 Posted March 17, 2002 Very nice as it is now! The low contrast give some additional sense of "purity"... Link to comment
gemccaw 1 Posted May 19, 2002 I would say my favorite is the "soft contrast" version--it is a tour de force of B/W printing. It is very tastefully erotic. Well done. Link to comment
paul_berard 0 Posted June 30, 2002 I quite like the original post and the subject material is amazingly well done. A great composition with material not often seen today. Link to comment
manny 0 Posted January 15, 2003 It's such a very wonderful shot... What a comfortable position to be in... The composition adds to the perfect fit... Very nice... Link to comment
agustin barrutia 0 Posted June 11, 2003 Tom. I would leave it as in the first upload. The soft contrast and mostly hilights with blown out zones remembers me to the nudes in platinum of Irving Penn. Link to comment
briany 0 Posted June 18, 2003 I definitely prefer the lower contrast version. I also like the negative that you have in this folder--very creative! For this shot, I slightly preferred the version above that included her arm. For me it anchored the weight of the left side. Link to comment
