This is one from my "road trip to Alaska" series. This was taken while

in Haines, after leaving the car in Skagway and setting off for a few

weeks touring the Inside Passage on the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry

system. Please also see the

better? I'm not very adept at changing color images to B&W in

Photoshop, so this is a rough attempt (you already knew that!)

I like both shots, but I think I prefer this one a little more. It has a more "historical" feel to it. Nice job on both!

A little more contrast.

I like this B&W version more than the color version. Kim is right; it has more of an historical or perhaps even nostalgic mood to it. I partially agree with Walt Strong's comment about the contrast. If this were my photograph I think I would try to simultate a red filter. I attempted a crude example and posted it below. Regards.
