naderc 0 Posted November 6, 2003 Beautiful shot. Hard to believe it was not manipulated at all. Good job! Link to comment
eco_foto 0 Posted November 6, 2003 Very good work, you manage to capture the light so very well, you asked for any improvement, not really ,I thought at first you could have off centered the image more, but after a further inspection this would have eliminated some of the details shown in this framing of your work!!!! brian farn 0 Posted November 6, 2003 It looks like a matte painting. I like the way it was composed with the teeter-totter balance, high on the left and low on the right. I also like the backlit church steeple against the clouds. The red roofs and sunlit walls gives it nice color highlights. Very nice. Link to comment
robidooo 0 Posted November 6, 2003 This picture works all the way for me...excellent. I really like the color & the light, and the composition if fine also. Link to comment
stever 0 Posted November 6, 2003 Hello Anthony,Your photo is breathtaking in its beauty. The light is magic and the composition finely balanced. I wish I could offer you some advice here, but I have nothing to offer except my admiration - Ausgezeichnet!Best regards,SteveR Link to comment

louis1 0 Posted November 6, 2003 I so wish it was mine. Such light - magic. I reckon you could crop a bit off the bottom or even the section of building on the far left. Congratulations. Louis Link to comment
fran_ois_dugas 0 Posted November 7, 2003 HEY! Thats my picture!!! oh...no...that was probably in my dreams...nice work! I think I would crop a bit of the water and a bit of the sky to have a more panoramic framing. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
bens 0 Posted November 7, 2003 Agree with the comments, this is sensational. pretty lighting in just the right places, very pleasing composition. Link to comment
vrankin 1,339 Posted November 7, 2003 Very beautiful classic treatment. I wonder a bit about the foreground... could it use just a bit of a crop? Link to comment
sheetesh_aswal 0 Posted November 7, 2003 a little bit of cropping at the bottom would make it more picturisque Link to comment
fabgo 0 Posted November 7, 2003 Wonderful picture. Looks like a painting because of the nice pastel colors. In large format, or with a Fuji panoramic, this would have been spectacular. But I agree with Howard. The bottom part is uninteresting and would benefit from being cropped. Link to comment
photobyas 0 Posted November 7, 2003 Dear all, Thank you very much again for your comments. Since some people mentioned the cropping I would like to explain my reasons. First of all, I prefer the 4x3 ratio and try to keep it always even when I am doing some cropping. The second reason is that I am living close to the church on the right. Each day I pass the bridge the picture is taken from and have exactly this view. Perhaps not exactly because it is very seldom that beautiful. But anyway, the water in the front reminds me of that view and what a lucky man I am living here. Anthony Link to comment
margaret_s. 0 Posted November 7, 2003 You are lucky indeed! What I would give to have such a view every day!! :) This struck me because it looks just like a painting you'd see hanging in a museum. The light is really magnificent. Congratulations. Link to comment
walter_strong3 0 Posted November 8, 2003 Evidently you didn't use much polarization because you still have nice reflections in the water. If it'd been mine I'd've cloned out what appears to be a thin white jet stream in the sky. Just the same, its a fine piece of work. Link to comment
thestory 0 Posted November 8, 2003 This is like a paint, and the photographer is like a painter. you are both . Link to comment
ct 0 Posted November 8, 2003 Wonderful light! I agree with Jean-Pierre about the painting effect - the colors and mood are very reminiscent of Canaletto. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
wogears 186 Posted November 9, 2003 Christine: Canaletto was the first thing I thought of! This is a very beautiful photo. Link to comment
