rsalguero 0 Posted November 6, 2003 This shot goes back in time. To the casual viewer of a Photonet thumbnail, the picture might be dismissed as a gratuitous "bum" shot in Central Park or somewhere. In actuality, this picture was taken in a Portuguese village back in the 70's. The place was a time warp: no electricity, agriculture accomplished through mule power, etc. I captured this villager taking his siesta reclined against a huge tree. My question to you all is on the composition. Does it work for you? How about the tonal quality? Should I play with toning a bit more? All comments welcome. Link to comment
bob_pictaker 1 Posted November 6, 2003 Hi Ricardo, I like the composition very much! As for the tones the only thing that I might suggest would be to lower the contrast in the tree somewhat. Right now the texture of the bark dominates the image a bit in my opinion. When looking at the sleeping gentleman the bark distracts slightly. I'm not talking about anything major, just a slight move really. Nice shot by the way! Link to comment
rsalguero 0 Posted November 6, 2003 Thanks for the comments and encouragement. Bob, I think I see what you mean, perhaps the extra pop to the bark shifts the viewer's attention a little too much away from the descansero. I liked the dream quality of the bark and may have over-burned it a tad. I'll try backing off a bit. That's for the observation, I really appreciate it. Rick Link to comment
