the grey house 0 Posted November 3, 2003 Very good job on this, I love the lines, positions of the audience (or lack of) and the abandoned seats. Very nice, only critique I can offer is it's a shame about the mixing desk breaking up the red pattern. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 6, 2003 I love that all three of them have similar thoughtful expressions... good placement of the people in the frame Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted November 8, 2003 Interesting composition. If the man in the very back wasn't there, I don't think it would work as well. Each person is an important element in this image. I agree about the desk being somewhat of a distraction, but not much you could do about that. Link to comment
jlondonphoto 0 Posted November 9, 2003 I hope you reailize what a wonderful piece you have here. The shades of red with the wonderful contrast created by specs of black made by the personal belongings of people not included, the diagonal and horizontal lines, 3 people looking in 3 different directions, and that little orange folder or whatever it is breaking up the whole continuity without being obtrusive. If possible it would be nice to have about a half 1/4 inch more on each side for a slightly more panoramic compostion. I know this probably fits the standard 8X10 frame nicely, but I've always found this dimension to be a little compressed visually. Link to comment
roberto_carli 0 Posted November 14, 2003 Very good the background figure,is the additional shot value. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted November 15, 2003 Darren, No one yet has pondered the reason for the bail out of all the others. One can only speculate, of course, but the three remaining people have that guilty, forced look of non-challance. Perhaps it was a team effort or three individual actions, each unaware of the other. We'll probably never know. Best, LM. Link to comment
mark_johnson5 0 Posted November 23, 2003 like it v much. I'd rotate it counter clockwise a little. Link to comment
lou_verruto 0 Posted November 30, 2003 What are these people thinking? each with hand to mouth? Makes me wonder what they are looking at....and thinking!! Well seen and done. Love it. wish I shot it!! The desk doesn't bother me at all. Life isn't perfect. Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted November 30, 2003 Ah yes, the annual convention of the Lou Verruto appreciation society. And everyone showed up this year ...... !!! Link to comment
eclectic image 0 Posted December 3, 2003 Love this shot, echoing all comments gone before. Great Link to comment
gearoid_osullivan 0 Posted December 7, 2003 Great shot. The expressions are priceless. I wonder if all the bags. coats etc on the seats weren't there, would the image be stronger or weaker? Still nothing you could have done about that. Well spotted, good title too. All the best, G Link to comment
darren_s_pullman 0 Posted December 12, 2003 Thank you to everyone who has made comments and given ratings. The reason there are so few people is because this was a rehearsal. I was on the stage and the picture was taken with the limited amount of available light. The exposure was 1.79 seconds at f4.1. Link to comment
amrish patel 0 Posted December 31, 2003 Great shot - good timing in terms of catching all the expressions, but what I like is the colour scheme - almost an abstract painting. Link to comment
bhaskar k. 0 Posted January 24, 2004 I love the way , my eyes travel in this picture.First I see the man on the left, then the one on the right and finally comming to rest on the one in the middle at the top.this way my eyes explore the entire picture. Well done. Link to comment
davidweaverphoto 3 Posted January 30, 2004 Laughing out loud at this one! Great job capturin the moment! Link to comment
stever 0 Posted March 21, 2004 Hi Darren, Beautiful and evocative photo! The red seats collectively form a wonderful design element. The horizontal band near the top, with the "director" (so he seems to me) centered is brilliant. Best regards, SteveR Link to comment
