No need to go easy, this is a beautiful study of aged, weatherworn hands. I think I would have preferred it without the watch, but that's just about the only criticism I can think of- composition, detail, perspective and most of all the tones are wonderful- well done and great first post!

I think Andy nailed it. A great study that would have been more timeless (no pun intended) without the modern wristwatch. Great shot!

The watch works for me. I think of looking my grandfathers hands when I was young. I always noticed his wristwatch, and it looked very similar to the one in the picture. Very nostalgic for me. Thanks for sharing.

Great contrast of texture btw the Ball and Hands, added to that some nice side lighting. The watch shouldn't be there though but still a good picture....

Well done, Tony. The tonality and the feeling are very powerful in this. The hands tell a wonderful story of a very full life. I actually like the watch. It's kind of an icon of the time that has passed. I was really drawn to this image and had to comment. One of the many wonderful examples of the talent that is available in the membership of this site. An excellent post.

Great composition. The watch is part of the image, it is not an unexpected element, I like it and the individuality it brings.

incredible! artistic! the watch goes perfectly with the title..& conveys a strong sense of time lapse that's this remarkable shot's all about. the moment captured between waiting before playing. i luv the back hand gesture...a lil urgency & tinkling unease 4 the delay's perfectly conveyed. luv it!

On being in the POW finalists this week. What an outstanding image. The texture and lighting is something to be jealous over and I am... Just an outstanding understanding of light... Dave
