asimh 0 Posted November 2, 2003 The color changes i made in PS wouldn't quite "keep" when i saved for web option, regardless of what i tried (a little browner sepia), which of course shows my PS newbieness. I know the crop of the woman's elbow is a mistake in composition thru the viewfinder. I am not sure about the vertical croppings, but to me they seem even, with the diagonal of the bride's veil versus the bare shoulder on the other woman. So, please let me know what i could have done better. Thanks. - asim Link to comment
tc_reed 0 Posted November 2, 2003 This is such a lovely photo of a bride and her mother. Both ladies are so lovely which is proving to be its own enhancement to the wonderful tone of the photo. The only flaw, if you can call it that, is the ladies are not centered or the bride is leaning at an awkward angle and the mother is appearing just a hair out of focus. Of course, the focus could be a simple upload issue. The bride's emotion shows nothing but joy. Link to comment
marlene_degrood 0 Posted November 2, 2003 Very nice. I would like to have seen just a little more space to the left. I think that the elbow cropped out is fine. Nice lighting, nice tones and wonderful expressions! Link to comment
awaraagard 0 Posted November 3, 2003 natural expressions. subtle feelings. nice shot! Link to comment
lars raun 0 Posted November 3, 2003 a fantasticly beautiful bride and her proud mom. Maybe not the most original shot I've seen, but I love the photo for its glow of authentic happiness. Very well done. Link to comment
asimh 0 Posted November 3, 2003 Thanks for the great comments. It was a luck shot really. I guess if you press the shutter enough times, something decent has to come up sometime, right (laws of probability)? Ok, i guess i should have noted this earlier, but the mother is actually my mother, and the bride is my new sister-in-law. Thanks for the criticism, i really appreciate it! I am very impressed by the quality of my prints using NPH film. Now i know why everyone says to use that during weddings! Link to comment
diana k 0 Posted December 18, 2003 totally agree with Lars. again, very beautiful bride Link to comment
mposner 0 Posted February 23, 2004 Really nice portraits of your mom and the bride. I agree with the note about the focus being a bit soft on your mom, but it's really crisp on your sister in law, so I'm guessing that maybe you needed the lens wide open. Someone else mentioned wanting to see more of the photo on the left, but I'd suggest going tighter on the bride to further emphasize the feeling of closeness between the two subjects. BTW, the sepia comes through much better when I open it in Photoshop. I like what you did there. I also think it's safe to saw that we're nitpicking the image because we've got a passion for photography. I've got shots that aren't executed this well in my personal wedding album because of the emotionial response I have to them. I'm sure your family won't be looking at or for any flaws in this fine picture. Link to comment
