Leslie Reid 5,205 Posted March 31, 2017 Lannie, Wolfgang, Jack, Chris, Arthur, Peter, and Tony - I apologize that it’s taken me so long to thank you all for your very kind comments! Lannie - Yes—I’ve been shouting encouragement to that tree for years, now; I get the feeling that it’s enjoying the front-row view it’s got of the continent’s edge. Wolfgang - I love your observation of the similarity in form between the rocks and waves, and it makes me realize that in so many ways they actually do shape one another, both in the short-term and the long-term. Jack - Thanks so much for the comment about the background—figuring out how to balance the tones between the background and the tree and rocks was probably my major challenge in editing, and it’s really encouraging to hear that it worked Chris - many thanks! Arthur - Sounds like I need to add Bretagne to the list of places I need to visit. I’m trying to imagine what it would be like to live in a lighthouse at a site like this—exhilarating? scary? peaceful? Probably all of those. Peter - Thanks! It was taken from a path off the trail to Elk Head, looking back toward College Cove, about a mile north of the little town of Trinidad in the northwest corner of California. It’s a remarkable stretch of coastline, and I often have the whole place to myself. Tony - I love your sound-track to the scene! So often the images in my mind are accompanied by music as I’m composing the photos. Thanks! Link to comment
