Alternative Facts?

Rumors of your demise were unfounded, then! But, anyway, on the image, Pence is the new Invisible Man, as NOBODY even pretends he's there, but, much like Biden in '08, he was brought in to show that his running mate would not be a complete clueless buffoon, but, much like Obama, Trump is so mercurial that Pence fades to bolivion, like Tyson would say. The Einstein picture? Don't know what to make of that, as Old Al was a bit of a con man himself, but history has buried all that. Who know, maybe in 50 years we--or, more appropriately, they--would have so altered the facts of Trump's reign that he would come across like Abraham Lincoln. Time, as always, will tell.

I debated whether to post anything remotely political, but then thought that photography should reflect what's going on, at least in the mind of the photographer, so what the heck....

I also could not come up with a title.  Chaos theory?  A search for meaning?  Pattern analysis?  Truth is relative?  Well....  At this point, nothing makes sense.  I could've labeled this "Cat Enjoys Cheeseburger," which would be just as valid and truth-based as any other fact-free assertion I read in various posts, blogs, comments and youtube clips.

It's hard enough for me to imagine the two in the same universe let alone the same sentence. Obama, mercurial? What a load of crap. He's been one of the steadiest leaders in my lifetime, not perfect, but definitely steady. Trump is a petulant, maladjusted child for whom "mercurial" is way too kind.

Jeff, I kind of like "Cat With Cheeseburger". Makes as much sense as anything these days, although it is encouraging to see the peaceful protests. Those do make sense. Not sure what to make of the image. Just the name trump has me retching, so you are challenging me here. Science on the left, lies and misinformation on the right? Visually maybe a little yin-yang? Don't know if I can carry the yin-yang on to what is happening in right now. I do agree that this IS a time for artists to be political!

Fred:  It defies logic how someone so completely mendacious, fear-mongering and pathologically narcissistic can maintain a fan base.  The false equivalencies are also baffling.  Emmanuel's comment seemed neutral, and we have sometimes disagreed in our perception of things, but I know that his opinions are not knee-jerk, and he sometimes sees something I don't.  I posted this picture reluctantly knowing that it may yield some opposing points of view.  Unfortunately, I post so rarely these days that I've all but disappeared....

Linda:  Yin and yang!  I drove by this scene throughout the election and the juxtaposition of logic and um not-logic piqued my interest, so I hauled my camera out from its dusty home and snapped a few shots to create a time capsule.

Yep.  Einstein, an immigrant, came to America to escape fascism.  The irony is sadly nauseating.  It's not a great shot.  It'll be a painful memory.
