Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 17, 2017 Wonderful shot, Leslie. Nature at play in her endless search for novel forms. Link to comment
dandem 1 Posted January 22, 2017 So well captured, Les. You chose a great moment to freeze the every moving and changing patterns created by nature. Best regards, Lawrence Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted January 22, 2017 Very well done, Leslie. The shapes and patterns you captured in a split of a second are interesting. Something we cannot perceive with our own eyes so easily. Best regards. Peter Link to comment
krpradu 125 Posted January 27, 2017 Agree me too that with naked eyes sometime can not see this nice details of what nature can do,so this one is very well caught and each one imagination can think to what want. Link to comment
Leslie Reid 5,262 Posted January 27, 2017 Thanks, Jack, Lawrence, Peter, and Radu! I got lucky on this shot. I'd positioned myself where waves diffracted around a point of sand so that two wavelets consistently met head-on. I could tell that something interesting was happening with the foam when the waves met, but I couldn't tell what because it was happening so fast. I shot at f/10 1/800 to catch it, and the low sun angle of late afternoon helped a lot; this is a crop of about 1/6 of the original frame from one of 15 tries. I plan to try again--any excuse is a good excuse to go to the beach! Link to comment
