MarieH 700 Posted December 24, 2016 This is a nice soulful, and honest portrayal of old age. Nice. Link to comment

thadley 15 Posted December 24, 2016 Very Good (6). Fabulous shot and really no need to crop. The only reason I did the crop is to focus a bit more attention on the hands by reducing the light colored shirt on the left which attracts the eyes. As you know there is no right and wrong - only artistic choices. Merry Christmas. Link to comment
momagnum 5 Posted December 25, 2016 Hi LynneThis is a very fine capture, because of al the details and the composition and the dark colors. Tonis crop version is very interesting and gives more intensity to the image. But to me it becomes to much to condense all the content of the image without the space and air of the original.Merry Christmas.Tommy Link to comment
lynnemass 10 Posted December 25, 2016 Tommy, I agree. I like the square crop and am leaving it the way it is. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 26, 2016 I see patience, perhaps resolve, a moment of meditation. He could be waiting for his children and grandchildren to arrive and having a moment's peace in anticipation. The ambiguity presents many possibilities. Normally, I probably wouldn't fill them in but your title provoked me in other directions. I'd prefer to just notice the quiet and the intimacy of getting this unflinching view in which the hand is so pivotal. His skin is the parchment on which a universe of experience and stories is written. Link to comment
lynnemass 10 Posted December 26, 2016 Love your interpretation, Fred. I think I shall change the title ...DECADES, AGING???? Other suggestions? He looked lonely when I took the photo. Link to comment
