Quiet Expanse

This one immediately got my attention; it seems so quietly settled and composed. The tones are wonderful as well. The only small nitpick I have is the slight halo between the far hills and the sky.

Hi Jack, thanks for stopping by and pleased you liked this scene. Landscapes are the hardest for me to work with because there is a much larger area to get right. I had a look at this on my phone and I can now see that there is a slight halo at the top of the hills and I'll see if I can improve that a bit - if anyone has ideas on how to do that then that would be great. Hi Sarah.  A vast, somber landscape - made even more vast by the distant figure. A very pleasing image to me.  I perhaps would like to see a bit more contrast/detail in the sky.

Many digital cameras have difficulty separating very light and dark areas cleanly - especially at horizons.  Suggest blending, cloning, or patching the halo with a small soft brush, (don't know what software you use, but Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop will do this fairly easily).
