This is a wonderful image in many respects.  To begin, it's as if the sand spit is dividing two different worlds - one dark and the other light.  The blue tones, especially contrasted with the browns and oranges, are luxuriant and vivid.  Also, the footprints in the sand evidence a previous human presence.  But the person who is knee-deep in the water, perhaps doing some fishing, provides immediate human presence, aided by the bystanders hanging out on the beach.  All of this takes place under the sky's magnificent umbrella.

To my favorites this one goes.  It clearly deserves the 7 I selected.

My best,

michael

the wide lens (i suppose it's equivalent to a 24?) didn't serve as well here, i would have said. best, j

p.s.: i think you should try to limit yourself to f/5.6. beyond that, you'll suffer diffraction blur, and there will be more than enough depth of field at that aperture.

Jamie Thanks for the very helpful comment, I'm still learning this particular camera. When I used this setting on the Olympus camera it presets the parameters. I like trying out all the settings to get more familiar with what this camera can do, now that I have sold all my Canon equipment. I very much appreciate your time and help.

Best Regards, Holger
