Great photo. Might be a little more evocative if you cropped out most of the field around the subject. I found my eyes wandering away from him and into the background a little too much for my personal taste, but a beautiful photo nonetheless.

you shot him in about the worst lighting you could pick for the photo. open shade would have been much better. Kevin

When I enlarged the image I saw an interesting expression on his face. Try cropping his face tight with only a little space around it and repost it. I believe it will receive much higher critical reviews.

Thanks for the help! I think Kevin is right it is bad light. I will try to reshoot this in better light with all your helpfull hints. Any thoughts on film to use for these kinds of photos? I was using kodak gold 200. I just got about 12 rolls of 400 max.
