j1664877319 0 Posted October 30, 2003 Hey-I know that place (sounds familiar?:) I like the picture-a nice view of a not too nice building.my suggestions:I'd cut the whole right part of a picture-it's dark and not neccessary would be great if the border was a bit to the right of a bridge-so that you would have a tree to fill an empty space and create a border but not as much of it as now; I would also cut it a bit from top I hope my remarks were usefull Link to comment
antoine_morin 0 Posted October 30, 2003 Not being emotionally involved with the photo, to me the most interesting shape and the nicest light is on the tree cropped to the right and the reflections below in in the water. The castle sits dead center (but its reflection is cropped). The highlights are blown in the windows (and their reflection), and I find these very brigt spots distracting. If it was possible, I would have tried positionning myself to eliminate the sun reflection, and tried to capture more of the reflections of the tree in the water. Maybe by using a wider angle lense and being closer, or by moving back further with the same focal length. Link to comment
bram meijer 0 Posted November 1, 2003 Thanks for your comment. I agree with your opinion. But it was difficult to step back because there was a ditch just behind me. But I have could stepped to the right to make sure there was less reflection from the sun in the windows. Link to comment
Warm houden die relatie ;-) groeten, Bram Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted December 10, 2003 I like the composition, and I won't crop the right side cause it provides the contrast between the right and left, but I agree with Antoine, the reflection on the windows is distracting, all in all it's a good photo Link to comment
bram meijer 0 Posted December 10, 2003 Thanks for your comment. In fact the right side has been cropped. On the original photo one could see the reflection of the trees on the ice. Maybe I will uncrop (?) the photo again or upload the original. Thanks again. Bram Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted December 23, 2003 Well it depends what you have cropped but I think I would prefer a less symmetrical composition. Link to comment
