"Hot Day at UCLA" digital IR

mormegil

Taken at 11:20am, with a 48mm RM100 IR filter on a stepdown ring, f/8, 20sec, no flash, ISO-200 at Large/Fine.The IR blocking filter on the CMOS required a super long exposure.Levels were adjusted in Photoshop, followed by tossing out all but the red channel (simulating a red filter), duplicating the layer, upping the contrast on the duplicate layer by 30 or 40, gaussian blurring the duplicate by 25pixels, adjusting blend mode to screen, and setting opacity to 50%.This was done to simulate the IR film look. Instructions came from a post on this website by Richard Thomas (thanks!) http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=005Mky
