PhaasePhotography 0 Posted October 27, 2003 I don't think you could have got this any better, the water in the foreground is excellent and works well with the sun rays in the background Link to comment
peter_kervarec 0 Posted October 29, 2003 The birds look digitally superimposed over the seascape as the lighting on the birds is coming from a different angle to the sunset. IMHO if this was a genuine picture there would be very little detail this side of the birds and they would be more of a silhouette. Can the author please advise? Link to comment
s.t._cole 0 Posted January 28, 2004 I'd agree with Peter's comment. Digital manipulation's fine as long as there aren't distracting anomalies in a traditional composition such as this. Link to comment
amizial 0 Posted January 29, 2004 Peter & s.t. cole: The birds are actually part of the original photo. The sky was a bit dull so I replaced it with this one taken later that day at the same location. I didn't think of the contradictory directions of light until Peter mentioned it. Thanks ! thomas_turk 0 Posted March 21, 2004 Dull, dreary, new as.yet.under.development, compromised digital shot..only with spectacular lighting, aka jaymaisel.com can u get away with digital in the making of an extra ordinary photo. Composition is not strict, front surf is too unbalanced, ie near the left, where there are also rocks. The sea, clouds and sky look dead as the digits cant clarify the fine nuances of colors.. Only the birds look alive, but they seem frozen in space due to too fast a shutter speed. The suns light rays look anaemic...I dunno why u jumped to a still.under.development, inferior for landscape, medium, when a zeiss. with agfa or fuji shot would have wowed everybody...or did u want us to say wow, look, he uses digital...and then all u manage was to get a half alive photo Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted March 21, 2004 Looks like the inside of TTurk's head...where the dull drab dingy underdeveloped and oversold digital paranoia live... All kidding aside..Really nice shot...Prof Thom forgot his medication and he's been on a big digital bash this weekend... Link to comment
skip_fockelmann 0 Posted March 22, 2004 The sun peeks through the clouds as Apollo and his chariot tug the sun in its orbit around the edge of the flat earth and the false prophet Turk said "let there be no advancements, let there be no technology. For those that move forward shall be doomed to a dull, drab, dreary, colorless existence" Then Einstein said, "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities" Very beautiful scene, nicely caught. Keep shooting, keep improving, keep innovating. *S* Link to comment
r_puterbaugh 0 Posted March 23, 2004 Just ignore TT, he is just being strict with himself as is evident from the lack of photos he has here. "You have to be strict with yourself and not take the shot unless u see it will be great..." -- Thomas Turk So sayeth the master. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 23, 2004 I agree with Thomas, this dribble drabble could have been livened up if Richard would have waited for the right shot. Perhaps the Lock Ness Monster or Moby Dick. Link to comment
amizial 0 Posted March 23, 2004 Thanks for the constructive feedback Thom! You seem well versed in the technical and artistic rules of composition. I'd also like to see some of your work. Link to comment
john falkenstine 1 Posted March 29, 2004 Since TT Professes to be an A/C accident investigator, I wonder how many accidents were incorrectly investigated....BTW Nice exposure, can almost feel the breeze. Link to comment
