To me this a 7/7 without discussion. The so much mentioned sharpening is the soul of this pic. Either you like it or not, it's not an easy task to make this work. That's a great portrait and very well executed. Regards.

Another beautifuly manipulated portrait. Would love to see colour versions of your 'Golden Blind Man' & 'Gacy' images. .Nice title..

I just assumed that the photographer is displaying an image that satisfies his vision. The depth and dimension of the image are striking, and the modeling on the surface of the skin is almost computer-generated! My first thought was that this looks like a frame from a Pixar or ILM film.

Interesting effect, and it's one that enhances the image.

Your PS techniques reminded me of a guy, Rui Palha, who likes to post portraits Photoshopped with these effects.

For those who are interested, you can find Rui's work right here

Anyway, well done!

Way too oversharpened and too much dodging an buring. Those processes supposed to help you improve your photograph, not make a totally unrealistic one. I have seen hundreds of them done like this. I understand the one can get very excited about these processes and forget what the objetive of the photograph is supposed to be. regards.

My first impression was: G this is the trainman ftom Matrix3! Then them celtic bogmen they found in england's swamp whose skin and bristles looked just like on this photo. Very catchy picture

Either you like the effect or not - that is pretty obvious. I would like to see the original without the effects or oversharpening or whatever you want to call it.

I think the composition is strong, the light could be magical (can't really tell with all the effects), and the eyes are as always crucial.

It is again one of THOSE pictures! At first sight you are impressed because you know you will never be able to take something similar strikingly. Then you realise: Oh, this is not (only) about photography, but about photoshop ability. Well, then the next question arises: What about a new nose, and a longer beard (after all, those are only stubbles). And since the eyes are crucial, should the colour not be changed to piercing blue, etc etc.? But, then again, it is a photo that has people sitting up-right. And it is daunting.

Striking image! I like the composition and lighting. Considering the subject, I think the surreal post processing technique works well. I love it!

it is a very striking portrait and i like the slightly drained use of colour. it seems as if the picture was taken and then manipulated to ensure that saturation is greatly reduced to create an almost stark image.

why the allusion to god? is this meant to be jesus residing in human being? if anything this picture is a reaffirmation of the age old myth propagated by the anglosaxon world that jesus was a white man with long hair and that white represents good!

You need only look at his portfolio to see the cartoonish approach to photoshop, where, in best practice, the effects should be less conspicuous. This picture may actually show some degree of redemptive restraint and artistic development in applying those effects. So it ain't bad...Unless it was created prior to the others in the portfolio and I would rescind the nice things I've said above...

Great pic. It?s not about the "sharpening", nor the "digital effects". The image still there, even without the effects! It whould be done with pencil and paper, or BW film, or even in a block of stone. It?s a great image.

This looks like HDR processing, I think the portrait is well done and has a great impact, congratulations, good photo and good post.
