root 0 Posted October 26, 2003 Hmmm . . . this looks familiar. :-) Nice tonal range. I like the vantage point . . as if you were suspended above the water. Link to comment
kent_tolley2 0 Posted October 27, 2003 With light this contrasty I think you set up a challenge for yourself. I miss detail in the highlights as well as the shadows. Link to comment

jeremy brotherton 0 Posted January 3, 2004 How did you do this? The tone? I just like a lot about this... Link to comment
lgoodwin 0 Posted January 4, 2004 Jeremy: Thank you for your comments. This is one of my favorite images. I am an amature, and I only sell a few photos even in a good year. However, over the last few years, I've sold more of this image than all of my others combined. I can't take a lot of credit for the tone. The actual image is straight up black and white; I have printed it several times, and my preference is Kodak Polymax II with a strong selenium toner to give it a slightly purple tone. The tone in this image is an accident, and it came when I made a slide of the photo and had the slide scanned. I think that the color is closest to what I would have achieved by printing the image on Ilford paper. Link to comment
