Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted July 18, 2016 Jim, This is amazing, just spectacular. How does one capture so man stars? Did you sleep out at the site and leave your shutter open? Wonderful! Larry Link to comment
Jim_Dockery_Photos 2 Posted July 20, 2016 Thanks for all the comments. Larry, yes I spent the night on top of Dege peak near Rainier to get this shot. I was lucky to have it all to myself during the night, but other hikers watched the sunset with me and arrived for sunrise (it is an easy hike). This one was shot at 20 sec., f2.8, iso 3200, 14mm Rokinon, Sony A7rII. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted July 27, 2016 Only a sky full of stars can come close to humbling Mt. Rainier. This is a most extraordinary photograph that belongs in a museum, National Geographic, or some other medium where it can be viewed by thousands. I congratulate you for having the dedication to spend the night on location, and also for earning today's POTD. Link to comment
