A nice image Bill as always. If I could make a few suggestions, the bird is in the dead middle of the frame. By moving it off center, closer to a third, it improves the composition.

 

This is probably a person thing but the depth of field is very good but the patterns in the out of focus area are a bit distracting. By softening them with some Gaussian blur in PS it makes them more pleasing to the eye.

 

What do you think?

Thanks for your comments, I really do value you opinion, However I disagree with your crop as you almost cut the birds tail off, I believe my original composition fit with in the rule of 3rd's parameters there is about 3 times the space in front of the bird as there is behind it and I do not think it is in the center!

I really like your application of the blur, I am going to try to learn how to do that!
