The child feels like the adult and everything else feels childlike! It's like the child is overseeing this scene and showing us more what's in his mind than what's on the ground. Only framed into a photograph would a cowboy hat and bare breasts work so well with teddy bears and a dog's attention to heaven. For me, the most expressive thing here, though, is the way the artificial light energizes the natural light. That winds up telling so much of the story.
