obscura 0 Posted October 22, 2003 Good strong image. O could do without the Samsung and Chevrolet logos in the background... they distract. Link to comment
john falkenstine 1 Posted October 22, 2003 Camel....Only problem I see here is that stale posed look where the subject is always staring off into space after being told to so by the photographer. Link to comment
thomas_collins1 0 Posted October 23, 2003 Nice composition. Very graphic. I have to put aside my anti-smoking stance, and say that it is a well done image. The only thing that bothers me is the mark on his forehead. I would have removed that as it draws too much attention of the eye. Reminds me of when bankrobbers paint a red dot on their nose to keep people from remembering their faces. Link to comment
barmijo 0 Posted October 23, 2003 Nice B&W from a D60. I like the image; the composition of the sbject and exposure are good, but the background is cluttered and distracts from the image IMHO. Link to comment
shaun_perry 0 Posted October 23, 2003 Nice dynamic image, At first I didnt like the two advertisements but now find they help put the image in prospective Link to comment
snoozer 0 Posted October 24, 2003 Colossal .. really like this. Looks like a helluva lot of post production went in to this to get the final result. The apparent oversharpening effect really adds to it .. gives it that grainy and gritty look that makes it for me. My only criticism is the highlight blowout on the bridge of the nose. Excellent work !! zzzz.. Link to comment
jeremy_smith 0 Posted October 24, 2003 I don't know... This doesn't work for me. I find the background confusing, and I'm not really sure what the point of the photo is. Also, the guy really looks like he's never smoked a cigarette in his life. On top of the fact that the cigarette hasn't been lit, it's kind of hanging a little too loosely from his unclosed lips-just like I'd imagine a little kid might hold one if he was trying to imitate his dad or a movie star. Of course, I know very little about advertising and even less about smoking, but I'm just not convinced by this image. Link to comment
