ljk 0 Posted October 22, 2003 As I was passing through a barn, I noticed these stacks of brand new bushel baskets ready to be filled with autumn harvest. Link to comment
margaret_s. 0 Posted October 23, 2003 Great composition Linda. Did you secretly arrange those two baskets in the middle yourself to add visual interest to your photo? ;-) If so, good for you! On another note, do you scan your own film/slides? Just wondering because there seems to be a very slight magenta cast in this photo (just like the one with your little girl from Guatemala). Look at the shadows and you'll see what I mean. There is also a bit on the middle basket on the red stripe.. just wondering if maybe a by-product of your scanner? Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted October 23, 2003 Hi Margaret. Actually, the baskets were arranged before I saw them....lucky me! And yes, I do scan my own photos. I'll pay attention next time to see if the color needs to have "some of the red taken out" :-)Thanks Link to comment
fawzi_karam 0 Posted October 23, 2003 I like these two baskets in the middle because they have broken the sequence in the other baskets piled on top of each other. You have keen eyes Linda.Good luck Link to comment
WJT 653 Posted October 25, 2003 Margaret is correct about the traces of magenta. If it is objectionable, you would need to add some green to the midtones (you knew that). However, I find the color cast quite nice; especially in the band of red! It imparts a vibrancy that resonates with the vertically repeating pattern. I also like the counter-foil of the upset baskets. This was well seen, and a good photograph. Regards. Link to comment

stever 0 Posted March 21, 2004 Hi LindaBeautiful composition - the red-banded columns of bushels are brilliant. I like the way the closest column is only partial, with the 2 baskets breaking up the stacked formality. As you can see, I'm having enjoying Linda Hitchcock Retrospective tonight :-)All the best,SteveR Link to comment
