Ichabod's Nightmare

A strong and powerful image. The orange looks great amongst the darkness and the headless figure looks fab (except for a light halo surrounding it). Only thing that bothers me is that in your PS notes you don't mention using it to cut out the head of this character??!! So, was it PS removal or did you actually wander across this freak of nature when walking on the heath with your camera? ;) Happy Halloween!

Great work!!! BTW, what's the name of the writer who authored "Sleepy Hollow..."? I forgot the name.... Ohhh.... Now I remember... It's Washington Irving. Did you get the idea of this pic from him?

Brad, I believe it's Washington Irving. I like this image, very reminiscent of Sleepy Hollow. There is a spot on the left of his coat just above the two pumpkins that appears a little faded out like much of the foregound. It just looks a little odd especially since it extends into the trees in the background. Otherwise I like what you've done.

Excellent work! My only criticism is the "ghostly" white around the figure. I think it seems too much. Ohterwise, the muted colors and the bright pumpkins are wonderful. Great idea, great planning and execution.....no pun intended. cc

I wanted to say thankyou to so many people that have stopped to make comments on this image . Its truly funny I didn't know if anyone other than me would like it . Sometimes I get board and do a series to give me something to do . I am happy I was wronge about this image and again very thankful for all the wonderful feedback.

Margaret... the fading you spoke of is fog ....and yes brad it was Washington Irving but there are many stories and legends about sleepy hollow . I even found poetry :) Thanks again guys

If that's edge burning around his body from darkening the sky then it's about the only thing I object to. The idea is outrageous and the title is very well chosen. Which pumpkin is his head? Super!

No this is not edge burning or dodging rather around the headless man it is an aura I put on him with a highpass filter I felt it seperated him from the background and added a ghostly feel ... Thanks for the imput :)
