The legs give me the impression that it might be moving along toward the edge on the right.  The patterns below also catch the eye, albeit belatedly.

Thanks for the comments on this one. I'm interested not so much in the objects themselves but in how we perceive them. Our usual perception is kind of a default setting, I think. It's like an even number, static and finished. I'm more interested in odd numbers which always seem somehow unbalanced to me and carry the potential to evolve into new forms. I think Dan's remark alludes to this, the tension between our expectation of what is and the actual reality of the image. I love talking about stuff like this but find in most cases it's a monologue.

One of the things I admire most in your photos, Jack, is how you present them. To be able to take an interesting scene and present it as you do sets your work apart.   This photo and Under Observation are perfect examples.

Sorry I'm been less reliable in commenting on your work than you have on mine. ~~~~L

Thanks for dropping by and taking the time to comment. I refuse to believe that this picture got 197 views. Pictures like this are lucky to get a handful of looks, maybe a couple of dozen in a good month. I think their counter is screwy. Maybe some wires got crossed and the thumbnail is actually somebody else's nude.

After reading your comment about somebody else's nude my mind went to places that it had not gone until then. Masterful on either account.

Very interesting abstract. Minimalistic and refined. Apparently an utilitarian object at the top…but the simple whitish shadows at the bottom? And the angle and cropping are everything but haphazard. There is a meaningful and specific purpose in all of your work. A fine line of excellence and dexterity. You know that there is no flattery intended, but rather, an honest an objective recognition to your very personal and particular way of sharing what you see.

Best regards.
