Esperanza

Hope does spring eternal. This more Pictorial side of you nicely contrasts with the cynicism of our politics you have been recently exploring. Simplicity and wonder still surround us and this can't be shaken even by the demagogue who seeks to destroy civility and light. I love the sense of movement here, the dark-to-light sensibility displayed without harsh contrast, the subtle color palette, and the effective but not-self-conscious use of bokeh. It's like watching birds in flight.

Fred: Thanks for a gracious comment.  Yes, this shot does contrast with some of my prior political musings, but "hope" lives on, even after eight years of blockades and bluster.  The current political climate is terrifying--a fascist reality show.  It baffles me how such a sizable portion has given into baser instincts and jettisoned all sense of reason, rationality and even simple fact-checking.  I hope that decency prevails, but unfortunately, it doesn't always work that way.
