I think the lighting is well done on this photo. The contract of white blouse and black background led me to focus on her face as it should. Her pose shows her facial features well. I like this photo a lot. Thank you for sharing it.

The lighting is very flat an produces a very uninteresting image. I like that the hair blends to the background and so accentuates the face, but I think there is too much of the white blouse, and cropping the image at the bottom a little (a short distance below the bottom of the neck line) would produce a more nicely balanced picture.

Dale Mellor, I have to disagree with your critique. Each photo is in the eye of the beholder.  Cropping this photo would eliminate the length of the girls hair which is one of the major "eye catchers" of the photo.  Others seem to agree with me. I visited your site to compare some of your portraits - I didn't find any.
