Saturday Afternoon in Shirokita Park

Interesting chance juxtaposition!  How did this look in color?

Your usual eye for the unusual and interesting view point. So let's review, a shot from the back, a segment of road, bushes and trees everywhere, and yet this sings as a "street" photograph. Contemplating the contemplator.

The word that comes to mind is "serenity."  There is so much to like here: the profusion of shapes, the near and far, the curved wall that takes us to the open area where a man sits on a bench...I could look at this for a long time.  

 

Until I viewed it larger, I could not tell anything at all.  When I did see it, though, I was astonished at how empty of persons the photo is except for the solitary figure sitting on the bench.

 

This is both charming and intriguing, Jack.  I had thought that perhaps the photo should be cropped tighter so as to emphasize the sitting figure, but upon reflection that would take something away.  I like it very much the way it is.

Thanks for the comments on this picture. Osaka is a city largely without hills so it's rare to have the chance to shoot from an elevated perspective. This place is pretty flat also, but I took this picture from a bridge overlooking the park. I thought of cropping it closer too, Lannie, but it just didn't work as well.
