Around the turnoff the century in America, the main fare at the base ball games was sausage. Back then they would take sausages out of their portable cooker and hand them to the patrons. That is where they got the name Red Hots.

Then some baker came us with an ingenious idea, an edible holder and the bun was born.

I like mine with catsup and sweet relish and 4 pounds of onions....
