A great study piece

Wow, is this one of the old foot powered machines? Seems that my grandmother may have had something similar to this. Thanks for sharing.

Like the toning and the tight crop. Almost abstract--the title helped place it.

Yes, quite nice! I think I might tone down the color a bit--but this still works. Is this cropped significantly from the original image size? I'm just wondering if you can get decent prints, like 8x10's.... Good work! cc

I learned to sew on a machine like this....not that I am that old, but the lady who owned it actually got it from her mother. They do have such character and the artwork on them is quite exquesite when you really get into them. Love the composition and the tonal range. I think the sepia works well here. IMO it needs just a bit more contrast to make it pop, but I think that is just a matter of personal preference.

The tight cropping and toning are very effective , I think that the picture could benifit from being a little bit sharper

 

This photograph reminds me of some of Paul Strand's work. You did a great job!

I am the owner of such a Singer and it still works perfect. Nice photo.
