christiedigi 0 Posted October 20, 2003 Wow, is this one of the old foot powered machines? Seems that my grandmother may have had something similar to this. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
rickaubin 0 Posted October 20, 2003 Like the toning and the tight crop. Almost abstract--the title helped place it. Rick Link to comment
chris_conrad 0 Posted October 20, 2003 Yes, quite nice! I think I might tone down the color a bit--but this still works. Is this cropped significantly from the original image size? I'm just wondering if you can get decent prints, like 8x10's.... Good work! cc Link to comment
bmudd 0 Posted October 20, 2003 Cheers for comment Chris! The image was only cropped a touch so yes I could get large, high res. prints from it. Thanks Chris, Brendan Link to comment
dreed704 0 Posted October 20, 2003 I learned to sew on a machine like this....not that I am that old, but the lady who owned it actually got it from her mother. They do have such character and the artwork on them is quite exquesite when you really get into them. Love the composition and the tonal range. I think the sepia works well here. IMO it needs just a bit more contrast to make it pop, but I think that is just a matter of personal preference. Link to comment
kenb 0 Posted October 22, 2003 The tight cropping and toning are very effective , I think that the picture could benifit from being a little bit sharper Link to comment
dannym 0 Posted October 22, 2003 This photograph reminds me of some of Paul Strand's work. You did a great job! Link to comment
