fabulous picture Jack, terrifically cinematic --- our stylish man is central cast incarnate and the rest of the frame does him justice, showcases him beautifully . Also, Panache has to be the best possible title!

Don't you just love the impeccable Clark Gable mustache? Everyone else seems to be a colorless, 21st Century drone while this guy is right out of a 1940's spy thriller.

Panache yes! but that sharp smile is missing and such a strong presence I thought of the third man... or Orson Welles I don't know why, still great picture from a great photographer. Best regards,

Nice composition Jack, the Japanese society looks quite different. But is is in fact a very elegant composition.

Best regards, Herman

An impeccably dressed businessman, perhaps a high-level professional - or a modern-day shogun.  Hopefully the intensity of his stare is not an indication that he's reaching for a weapon; he easily could hide a samurai sword under the trench coat.

I like the soft appearance.  It seems to go well with the tonalities.

Great one Jack. There's a sense of a fashion advertisement for cosmopolitan senior people.

... if such thing doesn't exist, you just created it.

Oh man.  Where the hell have you been keeping these!?  (Sorry to be so profane in my comments today...must be the winter weather here in Chicago.)  Great standout character, and perfectly placed in the frame.  This is HIS story, his scene, his photograph.  Wonderful.  The coat, the moustache, the fedora, the look.  Geez, this guy did just step out of a 40's movie.  Or temporarily created one in this moment.

thanks for taking the time to comment on this one. I'm presently going through all my old pictures, trying to marshal them in some kind of rational way. It's a lot of work and very tiring but the reward is coming upon older photos that I'd forgotten about, like this one.

Thanks for the comment. I've always looked at you as a most accomplished master of the street photo so a nice word from you means a lot to me. Much appreciated.
