Cowra, NSW, Australia - Japanese Gardens

I took this in the Japanese Gardens at Cowra and apart from the scan

quality (it's Velvia and looks much better on the slide than it does

here - far more punchy colours) am happy with the feel but have

noticed a loss of detail to the shadow area to the top right - it's

not a very high contrast scene and I don't think it's underexposed as

such.

You are right. That is a compositional problem, not a lighting problem. Maybe you can crop a vertical out of it. Bee-YOO-tiful picture, anyway.
