Stark.  The only hint of life is beneath the pots, except for the one sprig poking up in the back as if to say "I'm still alive."  The before picture in a Prozac ad.

  Wonderful image with great composition.  I like the green at the bottom of the pot that makes you think when is life there is always hope.  Take care, Patsy

I like the light circles on the pavement; they must be the footprints of previous pots, and they make me wonder how much longer these last six pots will be there.  The scene consists of hard, man-made surfaces that don't provide much stimulus for living things.  The condition of the potted plants augurs no good for other life forms condemned to the same surroundings.
