Sabrina Lake Fall

Colors changed rapidly as the sun rose higher moving the

shadow line down the mountains. It is hard to judge the best

time to photograph this lake because it does not recieve light in

the until at least an hour past sunrise proper. This image takes

in the whole length of the lake from the dam and includes the

blue reflection from the sky in the water around the rock in the

foreground. I was lucky to be there at a time with wonderful fall

colors.Comments on this image? Is it better or worse than the

zoomed-in version posted earlier?

I would like to see more of the mountains, or at least not have them placed so close to the top of frame (I realize the part to the right will have to be chopped off somewhere, but the small peak near the middle looks crowded. The blue in the reflection is nice, but the rock doesn't work for me... I would shift the entire composition up or find another viewpoint.

You have captured a magical moment that certainly demonstrates your eye for good photography. A little attention to the core of interest...adjusting the contrast and lastly cropping would give you a fabulous pic...love your work........redwonder from San Diego
