Before I even saw your title,  I saw it as an alien penetrating and invading someplace that was off limits

The aliens are draining your life essential fluids, unfortunately nobody knows it all happens in strict secrecy and disguise.

Thank you Jack. it is always good to be warned!

Best regards, Herman

Fine one and well titled too.I just think a portrait formt would be better to inclose this aline life form, cause I feel the lateral edges are of no connection to the main theme.

Regards.

A refreshing challenge to our anthropocentric view of the world.

@Saad: interesting proposal - made me think about the composition. From my point of view the composition works well as it is. To me the most important element is the organic shape of the curved cable and it's shadow echoing the form and suggesting an alternative position of the cable, thus a movement. It's breathing life into the electro-mechanical device and with a portrait aspect ratio it wouldn't have enough space to 'live'.

Yet another new life form discovered in Japan.  Its tentacles are beginning to reach way beyond its point of origin on Earth.

For whatever its worth, the "lateral edges" work perfectly in the context of this image.  Wolfgang ably supplied the explanation.

"I'd like to be, under the sea, in an octopuses garden in the shade...."  Jack, I don't know how to break this to you, but you may be the fifth Beatle.  Dan
