stever 0 Posted October 17, 2003 This composition is wonderful in so many ways: the slightly bumpy mass of the rock going from upper right to lower left... echoed partially by the very straight climbing rope... perfect placement of the climber, IMO solid black mass of the rock contrasted with and balanced by the light textured sklyOK, now I have to put you on my "watch list." Thanks for sharing this one!Best regards,SteveR Link to comment
andrewdawsongallery 0 Posted October 17, 2003 Thanks Steve! Yeah, it was just one of those lucky days out. Nice late afternoon light, rock climbers in an easily accessible place... I rarely use that Tamron zoom, but at 200mm and stopped down, it's actually pretty sharp. :>) Link to comment
margaret_s. 0 Posted October 17, 2003 Nice tension in this shot (no pun intended) and I like the tonality of the sky. Interesting too how the clouds below him are darker and thicker - a good way to anchor the image visually. Link to comment
digitaldee 0 Posted October 18, 2003 Wonderful back light shot. Regarding the composition, the position of the climber and of the mountain are too perfect. Are you sure you haven't cropped the original photo? Link to comment
andrewdawsongallery 0 Posted October 19, 2003 Dario, I cropped maybe 5% from the edges but that's about all. Sometimes things just fall into place... Link to comment
