stever 0 Posted October 16, 2003 I think you have captured the very essence of the end of the second stanza of the Star Spangled Banner: 'Tis the star-spangled banner! O long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave. This is the ultimate flag picture - a beautiful, spiraling unfurling in the breeze, light shining through the stripes, pure blue sky, etc. Compositionally, there is a very nice flowfrom lower left to the start field in the upper right (or possibly, the other direction.) I am a refugee immigrant to the United States (I came to the US in 1951 at age 1 with my parents and grandparents.) I must tell you that I am so very moved that this beautiful image bears a name that reminds us of a more recent wave of refugees who have, in the great American immigrant tradition, become a valued part of our society.A reminder of the principles that ground us and bind us together in this time of trouble. Thank you!-- SteveR Link to comment
