dagata 0 Posted October 15, 2003 Marina, this shot drew my attention because of the shapes, colors, and light. My only criticism would be that the woman at the bottom is in the shadows, and thus detracts from the overall effect. I'd either do a kind of still life without a person sitting there, or move in closer and just get the woman, in better light, with the bench, the wall, and the window box behind her. Link to comment
dav_faust 0 Posted October 15, 2003 I love pictures with bold, striking patterns such as the construction and the triangulating light, that are offset by some small, subtle contradictions of soft irregular shapes such as the flowers and the human figure. I don't agree with the previous comment that the person should be in the light. I think the person is not the subject but rather a prop, like the building, to metaphorically represent the subject-theme. The building and the woman are very possibly two contradictory sides of the same coin. I wouldn't change a thing in the photo. --Dav Faust Link to comment
