Fall Falls

saratogatravel

Picture taken in late day on stream leading into Hudson River. Taken in shutter priority with a tripod. I was looking for more fall pictures and I thought that the combination of the water, leaves and moss would combine for a striking photo. I think I was right. I am very interested in any feedback on this approach.

I was looking for fall pictures and came across this. I thought the

fall colors, the moss and a slow shutter speed would create a great

effect. I really like it. I would love some feedback.

I love this shot tom. The colour in the leaves is amazing (especially in the foreground). The shot would have been lacking without them.

I like the idea a lot. The leaves contribute a beautiful splash of color against an "ordinary" scene (by that I mean often photographed). The moss however is barely discernable and I'm not sure if the details got lost in the compression or if there wasn't enough light to illuminate them. Did you adjust the contrast? Sometimes that can darken it. I'm wondering because the rocks seem to lack a lot of detail especially in the foreground portion.

Thanks for your comments. Margaret I agree with your comment as on Photo Net the photo looks a little darker that it was. However, it was late in the day and in the shade so I was pushing to get the long shutter speed. I can get more details out of the rocks but I'm not sure I don't like it a little dark.

I really like looking at and shooting these water scenes, even if a lot of people think they are overdone. Yours is very nice with just enough color thrown in and a good composition.
