AlainD 0 Posted November 26, 2015 Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, Iceland. Please see "Crystal Ice Cave (2)" in the same folder for a general view. Black sand got trapped in the ice long time ago, and pressure pushed the air out of the ice, making it transparent blue. Glacier movements put the finishing touches, creating fantastic patterns. DavidTriplett 12,682 Posted December 4, 2015 Alain, I know this is a photograph, but it feels like a piece of abstract art - really, really good and interesting abstract art. Perhaps this is because I know it is a photograph (that looks like abstract art, etc.) My brain keeps shifting between the abstract and the natural, which is both very engaging and a little disconcerting. Congratulations on a truly unique image. Link to comment
AlainD 0 Posted December 4, 2015 Thanks David. As expected I didn't get much feedback about this abstract ice serie... I really appreciate your nice words! Link to comment
