myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted November 17, 2015 Bad winter in Israel also.Kansas has wonderful weather. There is a song from the old days of cowboys."Home home on the rangeWhere the dear and the antelope playAnd never is heard a discouraging wordAnd the skies are not cloudy all day."Autumn is just beginning. Soon will be winter as it by you. Link to comment
Saadsalem 74 Posted November 19, 2015 Rain. The best poem ever is by an Iraqi from Basrah named Bader Shaker Al Sayyab. If you could find it translated to English. The poem titled Rain, rain, rain. In my first reply I used Rain as metaphor of shells of war. Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted November 20, 2015 I've read but forgotten. "Your eyes are two palm tree forests in early light....and still the rain pours down." "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran my favorite. Lebanese I think. Somewhere on my bookshelf. Link to comment
Saadsalem 74 Posted November 20, 2015 Yes, you nail it, the one you mentioned is a great one too. But we were talking about rain. Have a nice day friend. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted November 22, 2015 It would seem that one must carry an umbrella everywhere these days. There are no safe havens apparently. Your metaphor for rain would apply to all countries, France most recently. To turn a phrase from Meir, " We all live in tough neighborhoods", the World, it would seem. Perhaps the white umbrella in this photo is a metaphor for hope. Stay safe! Best, Len. Link to comment
Saadsalem 74 Posted November 23, 2015 My friend. Very unfortunately they have stopped selling white umbrellas in my country, but I am certainly searching for one. Regards. Link to comment
