1000wordsphotography 0 Posted October 17, 2003 Unusual choice of black and white on these normally brightly colored balloons, but somehow it works well. I like the way the distant balloons appear scattered against the sky. Always varied and interesting work in your folders Mike. Thanks for sharing and inspiring. Link to comment
connealy 0 Posted October 17, 2003 Thanks for stopping in to look and comment. My intent in using bw was to emphasize the form, and I felt the central placement supported that idea. I think the contrast of the strong form against the sky also brings out some of the anachronistic character of the mass ascension, and creates a somewhat surreal or absurdist effect along the lines of what Magritte or Gary Larson might do with the subject. Mike Marcotte 50,753 Posted October 20, 2003 I agree with Regina here. Usually we see balloon pictures in vivid color, but you made this work in B&W, maybe that's why it caught my eye right away. It's a spectacular scene. Link to comment
brambor 2 Posted March 5, 2004 Best Baloon picture I've seen. My only gripe are the urban structures in the background. Link to comment
