A Glass of Water (color)

vlad po...

This photo was taken at sunset last Saturday, so the reflections on the plate are sunset-colored clouds and the sky. My attention was attracted by a variety of patterns interacting on this picture. I'm curious how many different patterns would count the most careful viewers who used to read Technical Details?Cropping, sharpening, brightness/contrast/level/curve adjustments in PS. No any major manipulations.

Vlad- IMHO I wouldn't change a thing. No one has mentioned the sharp spectacular reflecton of the lawn in the glass. Physics at work here, curve of glass and all. My eye maybe wondering around, but only to capture all I see. Really, a truly amzing shot. Thanks for sharing it.

Fantastic - I love the way the horizontal lines distort and refract in the dish and glass - and the perpindicular lines in the lawn outside. Nice light as well.

I find the patterns in the dish almost hypnotic. The way the venetian blinds recurr even in the rim of the glass is excellent. As mentioned by some earlier posters, though, I also dislike the house elements which frame the window, even though they have their patterns, as well as the reddish structure out of the window: they attract the eye a bit too much.

Wow so many patterns. The lawn outside, the wall on the left, the blinds, the glass rim, the top surface of the water, the glass stem, the glass base, the plate and the pattern with the pattern on the plate. Great work.

It's amazing how the colors and the lines combine and twist on that dish! Makes me feel a little dizzy :P Love the composition and the idea! Great work, again!

I like the composition with the glass and the plate. I feel the background blinders and the house siding to be distracting. How about shooting this outside with the glass, plate, and the green grass mowed in perpendicular lines like you have it. That would be surreal.
