Ah, what a couple! and you didn't bring a wide angle lens... Honestly, I would have followed these two until I could get a better framing and a less distracting background, if at all possible (I suppose there was a crowd behind you, but there does not seem to be anybody on the opposite side of the street). As it is, the photo is disappointing, and you know it.

The photo was taken a week ago in my town (Alcala de Henares, where the writer Miguel de Cervantes was born). I agree with you about the not very interesting framing (actually I cropped the sides of the photo, trying to delete some spectators). I walked ahead of the couple wanting to take more shots with a different angle (with the 50mm), but suddenly they finished their ride and entered into the house-museum of Cervantes to continue the show inside... You're right, both deserved a better shot!
