Redbarred Hawkfish or Pilikoʻa
It took about 20 attempts, doing somersaults between surges tossing me towards the rocks, before I finally captured a good photo of this shy, territorial fish. With encouragement from John Hoover, I looked AGAIN through his books for a +ID.
