You're becoming quite the maestro of duck portraits.   This is fantastic, the warm lighting, the fine detail and particularly the ambiance of the swamp... Mike

This location is quickly  becoming a favourite of mine.  Always find some interesting subject matter and I often return with at least a couple of 'keepers'.  Keeps me out of trouble.  :-)  Best, Len.

I really like the combination of sharp clarity and the blurriness of the wings depicting their movement!  Together with the warm dappled light it brings the image to life!

Beautifully done Len!

Best Regards

I had set the camera for a minimum shutter speed of 1\2000 and the aperture of 5.6 with auto ISO topping out at 1600.  The light had faded to the point of under exposure so the camera had no wiggle room other than to drop the shutter speed.  Pure luck that that the 1\500 it chose was still adequate for the motion of the bird's body but not high enough to freeze the wing tips.  Lady Luck, take a bow!  :-)  Thanks for your thoughts.  Best, Len
