Palm shadow

a photo very much to my taste - the shadow projecting the world outside the frame into the photo widens it's reach. The fluffly edges of the palmtree's shadow contrasts well with strict geometry of the architecture (natural structure vs. man made structure).

I'm always looking for simple and direct pictures that tell their tale without undue elaboration and the minimal intrusion of the photographer with all his intellectual baggage.. In my mind, this is one. Into my favorites.

It just works. That blue band of sky seems very important. I'm glad you included it.

Amy, Jack, and Wolfgang, thank you for your kind words.  Wolfgang, I think it was the irregular, organic shadow against the hard lines that attracted me to this scene.
