Thanks for your response.  Sometimes we get to be in the right spot at the right time.  I had never seen so many waxwings here before.  They were flying around, apparently picking off insects in the air.  Made for an interesting evening.  This was the first shot in a short series.  I've posted a link to the second shot, taken about 1\4 second later.  Best, Len.

Both shots are excellent, but I think I like the second shot best.  Well done... Mike

Thanks for your visit & opinion.  I posted them this way partly so they'd be in the proper order & because I feel this one has better balance.  I think they both have merit.  Win, win! 'Twas a fun evening.  These are the best I was going to get within the limitations of the 200mm Kit zoom.  Best, Len.

I could never do this, not even to have the bird in the frame! And you have caught it in such nice pose even with decorative element! Bravo, Len!

Cheers

Sure you could!  But you are right, I get a lot of frames where there is only part of a bird or no bird at all!  Of course I only post the 1 or 2% of the frames I have had success with.  Who wants to see a bird photo with no bird.  :-)  I still haven't convinced Mike that there is a large element of luck in these posts.  Thanks for your thoughts.  Best, Len.
