Dear Pierre,

this time you let me without words;

someone here says it is having a philosophical meaning and you approved;

in this type of art , the artist has its own meaning , and I ask you nicely to reveal it for this one;

the only comment I have ,is that in this picture you must be applied a kind of the rule of thirds;all the action is in the downside part and a double portion of the sky is abusing space;

so I wait for your comment , what truth are you reveal here ?

or, as in aesthetics, which is the truth and which is the beautiful here ?

Raluca,

The philosophy is this: We are so small and race for relatively small things, but yet bigger than ourselves because we want to reach them and those things are the material, not spiritual, not emotional, not contemplative! The abused space is the sky which watches all we are doing and see how small we are!

The whole matter was inspired by our country's situation which is somehow related to the baroque and building at any price!

And finally, beauty is a relative thing and hardly achieved by simple rules of the composition, after all rules are to be broken, at least in the aesthetics it won't harm anyone as, for example in the material sphere!

Satisfied?

Dear Raluca,

As I understood you accepted my reply to your questions, but still can't accept my image! It's OK with me, matter of taste!

Explaining of a harsh and honest critique is not necessary, I need serious critique as we all need it, this isn't Facebook after all!

Thank you

Pierre, I like the image and the idea of race-which gives you again so many associations that you get dizzy- however, the photo remains more interesting for me if the elephant would win and would stay on the photo;) instead the runner - but true- these are personal guestions as always:) best Hannu

I can't imagine what you are going through with the problems in your country.  We contemplate and watch what is going on in the world and some days it all literally shocks me and in most cases I can't understand 'why' if mankind has come so far, can mankind not find Peace amongst themselves. What will be left when all the damage is done??  Your mind must be 'active' and contemplating all of the time Pierre.  Life gets more tedious and worrisome when there are more questions than answers - when there is uncertainty and when one lacks the feeling of walking on solid ground.  That is one connection I get with your images.  You always have a very steady and uncomplicated area of 'ground'. There are never many rocks, or holes or pitfalls one might fall into. Perhaps that is the 'hope' in all of your compositions?

Thank you for your very interesting elaboration of my work, Gail!

About what's happening in my country, it is a simple, everywhere already seen merciless conflict of interests between the opposed politicians and the citizens, the civil society! I'm afraid the politics will be the winner in the end as it happened so many times in so many epochs and places! The citizens and the civic have a long way to go!

Thank you, again!
